Just the other day we helped a homeowner that found us over the internet. He visited our website and saw my free homeowners insurance report offer to learn more about insuring his High Point, NC home.

Well, after reading the section on water and sewer backup, he checked his homeowners insurance policy and found that he didn’t have this coverage with his “soon to become ex” agent. He was floored when he found out that he wasn’t covered if sewage backed up into his home. You can imagine the mess that causes. Believe me, I’ve seen it first hand way too many times.

The truth is the standard HO3 North Carolina homeowners insurance policy does not cover damage from water and sewer backup. You have add an endorsement to get this protection.
Recently, I helped one of our clients (who was covered) from Jamestown with his claim. Sewage poured out of a toilet on the second floor. How this happened? I don’t know but it ruined floors, furniture, wall hangings, and was a huge stinky mess.

A few years ago, another couple came home from a long weekend vacation at the North Carolina coast to find sewage had backed up into their High Point, NC home. Apparently other nearby homes had the same issue that Friday night meaning the sewage remained in the home for 2 days before discovering it.

You see, this is a problem in our area. Some of the Triad sewer systems are old and with the growth in new homes over the past ten years. they have been known to build up pressure and spew into homes.

The problem is that almost 99% of our new clients never knew this and their “old” insurance agent NEVER covered them for this.

So, this story ends here. Our new client is covered if this nasty event ever occurs and you can too!
Call my office at 336-869-3335 and let’s help you get the protection you deserve and some peace of mind knowing you’re covered.

Thanks for reading this and I hope we can help you with your homeowners insurance!
